Yanxu Long, Ph.D. | Postdoctoral Researcher

Yanxu is currently a postdoctoral researcher at NatCap TEEMs. His primary research lies at the intersection of environmental and development economics, with a particular focus on forests. He also has broader interests in ecosystem services and natural capital accounting. His work aims to inform public policy by evaluating the economic impacts of environmental policies and the environmental consequences of economic development, using transdisciplinary approaches.
He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota in February, 2025. He also holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Mathematics from China Agricultural University. Prior to his doctoral studies, he was employed by two major global automobile manufacturers in Beijing. Outside of his academic pursuits, he engages in hiking, biking, and kayaking.
