Heman is a Senior Research Economist in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. He is an environmental and resource economist with extensive research experience spanning water resources, environmental health, climate change, and agriculture.

His recent work focuses on policy-oriented research in water resources and the environment. His research applies environmental valuation, cost-benefit analysis, applied econometrics, and causal inference to inform evidence-based policy. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.
