Dr. Heman Das Lohano joined NatCap TEEMs in February 2025 and has been engaged in the Global GEP project. He is currently a visiting professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota, and a professor at the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi, on leave since January 2025. He is also engaged with the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), providing research guidance and mentorship to grantees from South Asia on their environmental economics research projects.
Dr. Lohano is interested in applied microeconomics research, concentrating on environmental and natural resource economics, sustainable development, and agricultural economics. His current research focuses on the economics of forest restoration and the impact of air pollution on child well-being. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota in 2002.
